Paul and Lisa Boswell have owned the pub since September 2003 and have managed to create a friendly village pub atmosphere along with excellent food and outstanding Real Ales.

Paul keeps a good selection of real ales, with some served from traditional hand pumps on the bar and others served direct from the barrel from a still at the back of the bar. Supporting other local business’s and suppliers is important to the landlords and is demonstrated both in the selection of real ales and on the menu. Regular ales are the locally brewed Earl Soham’s Victoria, from Earl Soham and Mauldon’s Suffolk Pride from Sudbury.

All our local suppliers are listed on the menu so you know where your food comes from. All the dishes including the desserts are made on the premises and cooked to order, with freshness and taste in mind. The pub has no separate restaurant area but is no smoking throughout and has a well presented beer garden.

Let's Party!
Have you got something to celebrate? We can cater for small or large parties (up to 60). Anything from live music with your own menu to more subdued sandwiches and cakes. Come and discuss your requirements and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Summer lunchtimes and warm evenings are ideal for lazy competition on our boule pitches. We have 2 pitches at the back of the beer garden. Rules and boule are available from the bar.

Take Away Fish and Chips are available every Friday evening from 6pm. Pop in for a pint while you wait or alternatively ring your order through and we'll do our best to have it waiting for you at the time requested (all orders are cooked fresh so please be patient if your order is in a queue).

Thursday night is curry night! Our popular curry night provides a choice of curry plus a sweet or drink for £12.50. The main menu is also available so you can mix and match to your hearts content. It is advisable to book on this night.
