Our 15th Beer festival 2018, was held on August Bank Holiday Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th, featuring 14 great bitters, ales and cyders. The weather was soggy on Sunday, but fine (although cold) on Saturday. Thanks to everyone who braved the elements and enjoyed the event.

Thanks to Rendham Mummers for their final performance of the oak moon summer 'tour' on Monday 27th August. They supported their moto of 'Never knowingly over-rehearsed' and entertained everyone who attended, even the weather was kind. A

CROUCH VALE – BLACKWATER MILD 3.7%abv
Smooth and malty dark mild for drinking in quantity! Fruity and full – the use of roast barley in the mash provides not only deep-ruby colour, but also a subtle, clean and dry flavour.

OAKHAM – INFERNO 4.0%abv
A light golden beer with a big personality, bursting with fruity hop flavours, citrus notes and a refreshing finish

 CLIFF QUAY – ADMIRAL 4.2%abv
Golden amber coloured ale brewed with English Admiral hops for a marmalade flavour bitterness and US Citra for a fruity floral aroma.

 LACONS - CHARTER 3.6%abv
A pleasing fresh and moreish copper best bitter. Soft fruit and berries lace the glass. Well balanced with charming malty undertones and a long dry finish

 COLCHESTER - METROPOLIS 3.9%abv
A superb golden session beer, with enormous depth of flavour and a long floral, spicy finish from the US Cascade hops

 MAULDONS - BISHOP'S HEAD 4.3%abv
Bishop's Head is a refreshing 4.3% abv golden beer that delivers a crisp and clean citrus flavour.

 WOLF - WOLF ALE 3.9%abv
Copper coloured ale with lots of bite! Goldings and Challenger hops combine with locally grown malt to make this a glorious full bodied brew

 MAULDONS - BLACK ADDER 5.3%abv
A dark bitter stout. Roast and nut aromas with a fruity balance of hops and dark malt providing an excellent longering finish.

 ELGOODS - BEER GOGGLES 5.0%abv
Elgood's seasonal ale for July and August is Beer Goggles. A strong blonde beer.

 WOODFORDES - NELSONS REVENGE 4.5%abv
A wholehearted harmony of hops, fruit and barley pays homage to brave Admiral Nelson and his crew. Nelson's is a Norfolk beer and glories in the taste and aromas of citrus and Norfolk malts.

 BRENTWOOD - HOPE & GLORY 4.5%abv
A full bodied red premium bitter is a well balanced bitter with full malt flavours and a lightness of the hops coming through in the flavour, leaving a pleasing end note and lingering bitterness.

 GREEN JACK - JESTER PALE ALE 4.4%abv
D Jester a brand new brew for 2018, has been brewed using new English hop Jester which showcases tropical fruit flavours giving this hoppy pale ale a fruity aroma with a long bitter finish.

 VILLAGE GREEN CIDER - DRY 5.9%abv
Direct from the cider shed our specialist Dry Cider offers a subtle apple taste with dry wine styled finish.

A pale fruity perry with an aroma of fruit and a hint of honey on the palate.
